No, you can ask for a single item, and that’s perfectly fine. Please note that wholesale discounts do depend on the quantity. In some cases, even a relatively small batch can be worth discussing. In others, the setup only makes sense above a certain quantity. The only serious way to answer that question is with the actual project details in front of us.
